A Single Window

Studies of BC's non profit capacity stakeholders carried out by the Centre for Non Profit Sustainability (CFS) and the Centre for Non Profit Management (CNPM) in 2008 and 2009 concluded that non profits and their funders would prefer one capacity building Centre, a single window with a robust mandate and the capacity to serve all parts of the province and lever the resource of other organizations in the sector. The Centre for Non Profit Management (CNPM) and the Centre for Sustainability (CFS) are joining forces to create a unified non profit sector capacity building organization.

The new organization will provide BC’s non profit sector with:

  1. Management and governance training and development
  2. Capacity funding and resource coordination
  3. Sector sustainability research and development
  4. Regional and provincial government/non profit dialogue and convening
  5. A point of information and referral on non profit capacity and sustainability resources
This coordinated approach will showcase the capabilities of other organizations across BC, enhance partnerships, and enlarge and enrich the impact of services currently delivered by each Centre. By doing so, it will provide leverage more effectively for change.
